A woman in Delta State has alleged that she lost two of her sons in separate incidents involving police officers, raising fresh concerns over law enforcement conduct in the state.
The grieving mother made the claim during a condolence visit following the death of her son Oghenemine Ogidi, a musician popularly known as OG Millan. The visit was led by social advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared details of the encounter.
According to Gwamnishu, the woman recounted how one of her sons was arrested from his home in 2022 and later killed. Police reportedly stated that he died during a gunfire exchange, though that account has been disputed.
She said the recent death of Oghenemine marks the second time she has lost a son under similar circumstances involving the police.
“Two of my sons were killed by the police,” she said.
Authorities have confirmed that an officer is currently in custody in connection with the shooting of Oghenemine. Police said the operation was based on intelligence concerning a suspect allegedly in possession of a firearm.
The suspect was identified as Mene Ogidi, with police claiming that a pistol and ammunition were recovered during the operation.
Meanwhile, a video circulating online appears to show the victim restrained before the shooting, further intensifying public scrutiny of the incident.
