Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has rejected reports suggesting he has withdrawn from active politics, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by his media office on Monday, Atiku clarified that he has not held any meeting where such a decision was taken, contrary to circulating reports. He noted that his only recent engagement with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was with stakeholders in Adamawa State, not at the national level as widely speculated.
The statement stressed that any decision of such magnitude would be formally communicated through official channels, not through rumours or anonymous sources.
Atiku’s media team also alleged that the reports were part of a coordinated attempt to mislead the public and weaken opposition momentum. It accused unnamed actors of spreading disinformation to create confusion within the political space.
He urged supporters and the public to disregard the claims and remain focused on ongoing political efforts, reaffirming his continued involvement in national politics.
