Blessing CEO Apologises Over Cancer Claim Controversy, Offers Refunds

Nigerian influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has issued a public apology following widespread backlash over her claim of battling stage four cancer, while offering refunds to individuals who donated towards her treatment.

The controversy erupted after she shared a medical report to support her condition and appealed for financial assistance. However, the document was later challenged by Xinus Medical Diagnostics, which alleged that the report had been altered and originally belonged to another patient.

The situation intensified after the individual linked to the report spoke out, prompting calls for investigation from groups including the Nigerian Cancer Society.

In a post shared on Instagram, Blessing apologised for the situation, describing it as an “unnecessary drama” and pledging greater transparency moving forward.

“I am sorry for the unnecessary drama, embarrassment, and controversy surrounding my health issues,” she said, adding that she would begin releasing detailed medical records, including scans and biopsy results, to clarify her condition.

Despite the backlash, she maintained that her illness is genuine and promised to keep the public updated throughout her treatment.

She also addressed donors who contributed to her care, expressing gratitude while offering refunds to those who feel uncomfortable with the controversy.

“To those who want a refund, kindly send your details and you will be refunded,” she stated.

The influencer further shared images of herself undergoing medical procedures, noting the physical toll of repeated treatments.

The development has sparked mixed reactions online, with some awaiting verifiable medical evidence, while others have raised broader concerns about trust, accountability, and transparency in online fundraising.
