Bruno Fernandes Crowned 2026 PFA Players’ Player of the Year

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the 2026 PFA Players’ Player of the Year at the 53rd PFA Awards in Manchester.

The 31-year-old midfielder beat Arsenal’s Declan Rice, David Raya and Gabriel Magalhães, as well as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, to claim the prestigious award.

Fernandes was recognised after a standout campaign in which he recorded a Premier League-record 21 assists. He also played a crucial role in Manchester United’s resurgence under manager Michael Carrick, helping the club secure a third-place finish in the league.

The Portuguese international had previously been named Premier League Player of the Season and Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, making the PFA award the latest addition to his impressive collection of individual honours.

The PFA Players’ Player of the Year is voted for by fellow professional footballers, making Fernandes’ victory a significant recognition from his peers.
