Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called on United States President Donald Trump and the international community to closely monitor the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
Davido made the appeal in a post on X on Tuesday, expressing concern over rising political tensions and the possibility of violence and intimidation during the election.
The singer urged authorities to ensure that residents of Osun State are able to exercise their right to vote freely and without fear.
He also called on the United States and other members of the international community to pay close attention to the election and encourage Nigerian authorities to protect voters and respect the outcome of the ballot.
Davido stressed the need for a peaceful and credible electoral process, saying Nigerians do not want violence or intimidation.
“We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election,” he said.
