Donald Trump Signals Possible Iran Exit Within Weeks As Ceasefire Talks Gain Momentum

Donald Trump has indicated that the United States could withdraw from Iran within “two to three weeks,” as diplomatic efforts to end the conflict intensify.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said Washington would consider leaving once it is confident that Iran cannot develop a nuclear weapon for years. He added that while Tehran is eager to reach a deal, the U.S. timeline may not depend on whether an agreement is finalised.

On the Iranian side, President Masoud Pezeshkian signalled a willingness to de-escalate tensions, stating that Iran is open to ending the conflict if there are assurances that hostilities will not resume.

Meanwhile, Xi Jinping is stepping up diplomatic engagement, with China pushing for a ceasefire to prevent further regional instability and economic disruption.

Despite these developments, violence persists in parts of the Middle East. In Lebanon, authorities reported casualties following Israeli airstrikes, while the Israeli military said it had targeted senior Hezbollah figures in separate operations.

Trump is expected to outline the next phase of U.S. strategy in a national address, where he will provide further updates on the situation and Washington’s plans moving forward.
