The mission has signed an agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Denmark Embassy in Egypt to implement the second phase of the SPHERE project.

IOM Egypt has implemented the first phase of this project in collaboration with the Egyptian government, which is a new phase of these previous successes. The partnerships include: the National Coordinating Committee for the Prevention and Prevention of Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons; Ministry of Social Solidarity; National Council for Childhood and Motherhood; National Council for Women (NCW); National Council for Human Rights (NCR).

SPHERE aims to expand and strengthen the national response in immigration management while protecting and assisting smuggling victims. It seeks to protect and assist immigrants at risk of exploitation in Egypt using a rights-based approach.

Provides new project resources to further identify and address random immigration challenges and further justify the ability of the Egyptian government to deal with immigration-related crimes.

While the government is making progress on immigration management and unregulated immigration control from Egypt, immigration was recently added as a pillar of the country’s Vision 2030.
