Kwankwaso Congratulates Adeleke, Says Osun Result Reflects People’s Choice

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate to Peter Obi in the Nigerian Democratic Congress, has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the former Kano State governor described Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, as a deserving recipient of the people’s mandate.

Kwankwaso also praised Osun voters for participating in the democratic process, saying the election demonstrated that citizens can determine their leaders through the ballot.

“As a leader of the opposition and a committed democrat, I commend the people of Osun State for exercising their democratic rights and reaffirming the power of the people’s mandate,” he said.

He noted that the outcome was a reminder that when citizens fulfil their civic responsibilities and make their voices heard, the will of the people can prevail.

Kwankwaso further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the election and urged political stakeholders to continue promoting peaceful, transparent and credible elections.

He congratulated Adeleke and the people of Osun State on the outcome of the poll.
