Liam Rosenior Appointed as Chelsea’s New Head Coach On Seven-Year Contract

Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as their new men’s head coach, signalling a long-term strategy as the club seeks to return to the summit of English and European football.

The Premier League side announced in a statement on Tuesday that the 40 year old Englishman has signed a seven-year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2032. Rosenior arrives from French club RC Strasbourg, where he impressed in his first season by guiding the Ligue 1 side to European qualification for the first time in 19 years.

Chelsea said Rosenior brings valuable experience from both domestic and overseas coaching roles, having previously managed Hull City and Derby County before his successful stint in France. The club highlighted his clear tactical philosophy and high professional standards as key factors behind his appointment.

Reacting to the announcement, Rosenior said he was honoured to take charge of the club. “I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies,” he said.

He added that his focus would be on preserving Chelsea’s winning identity while building a team capable of sustained success. “My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies.”

Rosenior also emphasised unity and collective effort as central to his philosophy. “I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do. They will be the foundation of our success.”

Chelsea’s leadership expressed confidence that Rosenior can unlock the potential of the club’s squad, stressing that while player development remains important, the club’s ambitions remain firmly focused on competing at the highest level.

The club said Rosenior has been given both the responsibility and full backing to ensure Chelsea challenge for honours across all competitions, underlining its belief that his long-term appointment can deliver stability and success in the years ahead.
