Two Chinese Nationals Kidnapped at Bua Road Project Site in Kwara, Police Launch Manhunt

Two Chinese workers engaged on the BUA Bode Saadu–Kaiama–Kosubosu road project in Kwara State have been abducted by suspected bandits, prompting an intensive police rescue operation.

The attack occurred over the weekend along the Bode Saadu axis of Moro Local Government Area, where the armed men reportedly stormed the construction site and opened fire before seizing the expatriates and fleeing into the surrounding forest.

Residents of Ejidongari, where the project is located, said the sudden burst of gunfire caused panic as workers and community members scrambled for safety. As of Sunday, sources confirmed that the kidnappers had made no ransom demand.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the abduction and said police operatives have been deployed to track the suspects and rescue the victims. He added that the command is “working round the clock” alongside other security agencies to bring the situation under control.

Ojo appealed to the public for credible information that could assist the operation, stressing the need for community support in tackling banditry across the state.
