Nigeria Center for Disease Control has confirmed coronavirus cases has hit a figure of 7,016 on Thursday, May 21, meaning that the country has finally got its footrest in the tier of top five African countries severely buffeted by the highly-ravaging scourge.
Lagos, the epicentre of the disease, unsurprisingly led the pack with whopping 139 cases followed by Kano and Oyo states sitting behind with 28 cases each.
Edo followed on the line with 25 cases, followed by Katsina (22), Jigawa (14). Yobe and Plateau shared 13 cases each, FCT (11), Gombe (8), Ogun (5). Bauchi and Nasarawa shared four cases each.
Delta has three cases, Ondo has two, while both Rivers and Adamawa states have one case each.
A number of 1,907 cases have been successfully discharged, while 211 casualties have been recorded.
Kogi and Cros Rivers are the two states that are yet to record the pandemic, though there is a palpable fear the two states are not doing enough to unravel the cases of Covid-19 which NCDC predicted would spread across all states.
