Kamuku has elephants and game animals such as roan antelope, reedbuck e.t.c. This park has a land area of about 1,120sq km of typical savanna woodland vegetation and a wide variety of birds and other animals like elephants, antelopes, oribi, waterbuck, wet cat, green monkey, side stripped hyena and jackal.

Kamuku can be accessed either through Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road or Lagos–Ilorin–Mokwa to Birnin Gwari town. The Secretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarius), Denhams Bustard (Neotis denhami) and Abyssinian Ground Hornbill (Bucorvus abyssinicus) are all found here.

Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary is listed as an IBA (Important Bird Area) for Nigeria and hosts one of the largest migratory swallow roosts in Africa. Afi Mountains is the home to the drill and other endangered primates including the Nigerian chimpanzee Pan troglodytes vellerosus, and the most endangered gorilla subspecies, the Cross River gorilla diehli.

Afi sanctuary is also host to the Afi Mountain Canopy Walkway which are a series of suspension bridges linked to platforms on trees.
